Registration with Police

All foreigners arriving at the Institute who are likely to stay for more than 180 days in India have to report to Police (Commissioner of Police, Bangalore City, Bangalore) within 14 days from the date of arrival in India (not the date of arrival in Bangalore). You need to visit along with your passport to OIR Office as soon as you arrive at IISc.

Identity Card

  • With enhanced security measures, it is essential that you get an Institute identity card upon arrival. You need to bring 2 passport size photos to the OIR Office, so that a letter to the Security Officer (requesting for ID card) can be given to you. With this letter, you can meet the Security Officer and obtain the ID card.
