(Course) Program Admission \u2013 August 2026 Session"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The <strong>M.Tech.\/M.Des.<\/strong> (Course) <strong>Program<\/strong> admissions for international students has been approved by academic senate of IISc in January 2019. The details of the available programs and eligibility is available&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iisc.ac.in\/admissions\/m-tech-m-des\/\">here<\/a>. The candidates that are admitted will be eligible for scholarship  and fees structure similar to General candidates (details can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/iisc.ac.in\/admissions\/fees-and-scholarships\/\">here<\/a>)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The details for the <strong>M. Program Page<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Eligibility:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li> All International candidates who are foreign Nationals holding a foreign passport are eligible to apply.<\/li><li> OCI\/PIO candidates are divided into three categories:&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>OCI\/PIO (I):<\/strong>&nbsp;Candidates who obtained their OCI\/PIO card&nbsp;<strong>before 04.03.2021<\/strong>&nbsp;and choose to be treated at par with Indian nationals will be considered under the unreserved (open) category.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>OCI\/PIO (F):<\/strong>&nbsp;Candidates who obtained their OCI\/PIO card&nbsp;<strong>before 04.03.2021<\/strong>&nbsp;but choose to apply as foreign nationals will also be considered under the foreign national category.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>OCI\/PIO (F):<\/strong>&nbsp;Candidates who obtained their OCI\/PIO card&nbsp;<strong>after 04.03.2021<\/strong>&nbsp;will be considered as foreign nationals and can only apply for foreign national supernumerary seats.&nbsp;<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">       3. Candidates with equivalent degrees as specified in the eligibility of M.Tech. programs (access the list and eligible degree programs <a href=\"https:\/\/iisc.ac.in\/admissions\/m-tech-m-des\/\">here)<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">       4. The medium of instruction for Bachelor\u2019s program (or equivalent) should have been English. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">       5. If the qualification is M.Sc. that means you should have major in the subject area mentioned in the master\u2019s program and duration of Masters program should be for 2 years, which is preceded by 3 years bachelor\u2019s program.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Is having standard test score compulsory for the Master course program?<\/strong><ul><li>Yes. If you do not have standard test score, please consider applying for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/testoir.iisc.ac.in\/index.php\/research-program-admission\/\">research program<\/a>.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>What will be the fees structure for the M.Tech. course program?. Will I receive scholarship\/stipend per month?<\/strong><ul><li> Currently, the total fees will be around Rs. 39,450\/- (subjected to change as approved by the Dean) for one year of study excluding hostel. In case you want to avail the hostel (student accommodation), an additional amount of Rs.55,000\/- (Rupees Forty Five Thousand only) should be paid, Rs.30,000\/- towards refundable hostel deposit and Rs.25,000\/- towards advance payment of Mess and Room Rent for first five months.<\/li><li>All admitted M.Tech. course program students will receive a scholarship\/stipend of Rs. 12,400\/- per month.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>\u00a0I\u00a0am\u00a0having\u00a0technical\u00a0difficulties\u00a0in\u00a0filling\u00a0up\u00a0application\u00a0form,\u00a0whom\u00a0should\u00a0I\u00a0contact?\u00a0<\/strong><ul><li>Please contact: admission.oir@iisc.ac.in<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>What is the difference between M.Tech Course and M.Tech. (Research) program?<\/strong><ul><li>M.Tech (Research) is a thesis based degree program with a strong research component (it was earlier known as M.Sc. (Engg.) program), where as M.Tech. course program is a degree program that is by course work with a project dissertation. The duration of M.Tech course program is strictly 2 years. The duration of M.Tech (research) is between 1-3 years with average duration being 2.5 years. Also M.Tech course program along with eligibility degree program, it requires the applicants to have standard test scores (<em>GRE\/GATE)<\/em><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Will\u00a0TOFEL\/IELTS will\u00a0be\u00a0considered\u00a0as\u00a0standard\u00a0test\u00a0score?<\/strong><ul><li>No. But, If you have a valid TOFEL\/IELTS score, please add that information in the application.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Can\u00a0I\u00a0apply\u00a0for\u00a0both\u00a0Course\u00a0and\u00a0Research\u00a0Admissions?<\/strong><ul><li>Yes, absolutely.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li> <strong>Is\u00a0there\u00a0an\u00a0application\u00a0fee?<\/strong> <ul><li>It is waived for international students.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>What are the minimum scores for the international qualifying exams?<\/strong><ul><li>For the admission to MTech and PhD program an International standard test valid score like GRE\/GMAT and TOEFL\/ IELTS may be accepted.<\/li><li>Minimum GRE Score could be 320 (verbal and quantitative) and 3.0 (analytical), <\/li><li>Minimum GMAT could be 600,<\/li><li>Minimum TOEFL score for Internet Based Test (IBT) should be 80 and IELTS score of 5.5,<\/li><li>TOEFL\/IELTS could be waived when medium of instruction is English starting from 10+1 onwards.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10. <strong>For  M.Sc.\u00a0Life\u00a0Sciences\/ Chemical Sciences program admission, entrance exams are mandatory?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">GATE\/GRE Valid Entrance Score is mandatory requirement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> 11. <strong>What is the elligibility criteria for getting admission in <\/strong> <br><strong>Master of Management Programme (M.Mgt)<\/strong> ?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> Candidates with a BE\/ B Tech degree, with a First Class, and must have qualified in GATE hold a valid GATE score card or GMAT with a valid score card having validity as on 1st August 2026. <br>After screening based GATE\/GMAT Score online interview will be conducted by the department.\u00a0 <br>\u00a0 <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The M.Tech.\/M.Des.
